The Gohan/Videl Faq

"Where's Videl's mother?"
I found in Funimation's version a bit confusing but most people believe Hercule's wife is dead. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you're correct. Looking at the orginal version the words "Even though Mama's passed on..." Videl says this to Gohan right about the time Videl has a flashback about Hercule's rule, "Do you understand Videl (Bideru), you can't go out with a boy unless he's stroner than me."

"Who is Gohan and Videl?"
Gohan is the first son of Goku and Chichi who grows up to become a scholar, have a few admirers in his school, first to acheieve SSJ2, marry his high school sweetheart (Videl) and have one child together. Videl is an only child and the only child of Hercule. She's a rich girl who is not only stubborn, takes no crap but can also be shy and blashful around Gohan. She's very popular, dresses like a tomboy for half of DBZ then starts to wear dresses, makeup and jelwery, grows up to be a best friend, lover and wife to her high school sweetheart (Gohan), mother of their child (Pan), and friend to her mother-in-law, the sister Goten always wanted.

"When did they get married? Is there any edvidence?"
Good question, they got married about four years later after the Buu Saga. They're in their early twenties during that time and yes there is edvidence. The episoide after everyone on Earth except its heros and heriones were wished to forget who Buu truly was. "How old are Gohan and Videl?"
When they meet Videl's 17 and Gohan would have been 17 too but his body is closer to 18 years old because of the time spent in the chamber to battle Cell. However, in one word, I'd say 17 for both since Gohan never spent a whole day there.

"What's with the bonds?"
The bond has become a staple in B/V fanfiction and many believe that it was in fact, invented in fanfiction - but that is only part true. In 1995, a writer going by the pen name 'Katchan,' started her ambitious 50 chapter 'Saiyajin,' it was her "Dragonball withdrawal whim." I believe she was the first to give the bond its name, and it further inspired Nora Jemison's 'The Third Bond.'

"Why did Gohan wear such a goofy outfit and act well... goofy?"
Imagine having a mom like Chichi, and if you have one like her well... I sympathize you. Actually, she's not that bad, just misunderstood. I have a mother just like that. Anyways, Chichi is strict but its not like Gohan could be a kid as much as most of us were.So Saiyanman was like his innerchiild becomign free while he helped defend Satan City.< But the costume was mostly Bulma's idea and I think from the start he should lose everything but the spandax. The boy can wear spandax (drools; Imagining the 'goldfighter' in spandax ....30 mintues later... Uh... anyways... Videl's so darn lucky).
